In 2017, Canada will become the first G7 nation to fully legalize marijuana use. The stock prices of cannabis companies reveal investors are anticipating millions of users and a multi-billion market. In terms of how it’s regulated, will Canada get it right? Earlier this month, a federal task force made 80 recommendations to the government, among them, setting the age limit to 18. Cannabis is "harmful" in USA Just because US attorneys say so. No doctor who was worth a fuck ever submitted evidence of grave harms of pot to US Govt. The Govt over 100 years ago paid researchers to submit false conclusions in reports about weed. This is how govt debunks everything & every one with whom they see a problem. . I don’t know what’s wrong with all you people but of the 6 times or so I have been high, twice I had horrible trips and my thoughts were all over the place, including 10 days straight of no sleep. Harmless my ass. Pot messes with your rational mind and makes you think and do things you ordinarily wouldn’t do. In my experience the feeling of being high has been way more intense than any feeling I have ever had being drunk. And I have felt more out of control with pot than any time I’ve ever used alcohol.

As a retired veteran, I have 2 herniated disks in my spine as well as a pinched nerve. I have experienced sciatic nerve pain EVERY DAY since the mid-90’s. Up until 2 years ago, I was prescribed oxycontin, percocet and hydromorphone and I was up to the 2nd highest dose of hydro that was available. My pain was still present, I had to walk with a cane most of the time. I also have glaucoma, and WAS being treated for depression and anxiety. So in November 2015, Veterans Affairs Canada approved me for medicinal marijuana, and since that time, I have weaned myself off of all the opoid pain killers, the depression meds are cut in half and the anxiety meds are gone. I also have glaucoma for which I’ve received laser treatment 4 times in my right eye. I notice a difference after working on a computer (I work in data entry) that my eyes will be slightly painful and blurry. On my break, I’ll go to my car and vape for about 10 minutes, returning to work with my eyes feeling MUCH better. I don’t smoke anything, tobacco or marijuana. I have 3 vaporizers, I also get coconut oil infused with marijuana (I take it straight measured in .50- .75 ml doses) as well I infuse marijuana into butter, and cooking oil to create edibles that allow me to get my pain relief without vaping. It’s not "perfect" (I can’t sleep in, or the pain will be unbearable) but it’s better than it ever was before. The only "down side" for me, is that after taking approximately 5 grams a day for almost 2 years is that I don’t get high AT ALL anymore. I’m able to do my job without any problem. I key faster than most of my peers due to my military training (about 110 wpm on average).
