That technique was already used by the Incas in South America 3000 years ago. If done properly you don’t even need additional fertilizer. Terra preta is also an invention of the Incas, bat guano as well and helped them to create a culture of several millions of people. And what was good enough for them is good certainly enough for us…

Every strain grows differently and has its own needed diet and light/air.

Not complete advice. N is not needed as much in flower stages. Growing huge leaves and smaller flowers this way.
Yk what also really helps, chia seeds. Once they get to big u can pick them and leave them on the soil to decompose boosting the nitrogen in the soil
